Enrich Your Future with a Scholarship
The Enrich Your Future scholarship program provides $2,500 to five eligible graduating high school students to support their higher education or vocational education pursuits. Enrich Your Future Scholarship funds must be applied for expenses related to full-time enrollment at an accredited college, university, technical, or trade school in pursuit of an associate degree, bachelor's degree, or other advanced-degree program.
Things to Know Before You Apply:
Eligibility Requirements:
- GPA: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
- Credit Union Membership: Applicants must be members of the Credit Union and in good standing.
- Educational Institutions: Funds can be applied to accredited colleges, universities, technical schools, or trade schools.
Application Process:
- Application Form: Complete and submit the scholarship application form available on the Credit Union’s website.
- Transcripts: Provide an official transcript showing a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.
- Membership Verification: Proof of Credit Union membership. The scholarship applicant must be the primary owner of the account.
- Essay: Submit an essay (300-500 words) explaining how this scholarship would “Enrich Your Future.” You can approach this from any perspective. Examples might include a statement of need, how the scholarship would enable your pursuit of a specific career, help you reach defined goals, or achieve a better way of life.
- Letters of Recommendation: Please submit two letters of recommendation. One from a teacher, counselor, or other school affiliated staff member, and the other from an employer, community group, or other personal, non-family source.
- Senior Photo: Please include a copy of the applicant’s senior photo to be used on Enrichment’s website, newsletter, and/or other promotional materials.
Selection Criteria:
- Academic Performance: Strong academic record.
- Community Service: Exemplifies the Credit Union mission of People Helping People through community service and/or extracurricular activities.
- Membership Standing: Good standing with the Credit Union.
- Essay Quality: Clarity, originality, relevance, and statement of need.
Disbursement of Funds:
- Verification of Enrollment: Provide proof of full-time enrollment at a traditional or technical school. This can be provided by class enrollment or Student ID.
- Payment: Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institution.
2024-25 Important Dates:
- Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by the end of the business day February 28, 2025.
- Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified by May 2, 2025.
- Fund Disbursement: Funds will be disbursed by August 15, 2025.
Conditions:
- Use of Funds: Scholarship funds must be used for tuition, fees, books, or other direct educational expenses.
- Non-Transferable: The scholarship is non-transferable and must be used by the winning applicant.
